Marlow 75 Acts of Kindness
Acts #61 to #75
Marlow 75 Acts of Kindness

In July, we chose to celebrate our 75th Anniversary by conducting Marlow 75 Acts of Kindness in the community. Our goal was to build overall goodwill, celebrate servanthood, and show the value of being rooted in the communities where we do business. As we approached the finish line for our ambitious goal, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

We feel gratitude for the opportunity to show the magic of infusing kindness into corporate culture. And we feel gratitude for the countless community members who cheered us on and reinforced our belief that we all have a role to play in building a better community together. Plus we feel gratitude for seeing the growth of our team members, as they showcased their talents and passions and learned of different ways to connect and serve the community going forward. But overall we feel gratitude for having walked alongside the armies of selfless volunteers that work relentlessly every day to make our communities better. After all, we will see each other again, and when we do, we want everyone to feel good about the community we are building together.

Some of Our Acts Were Simple. Some of Our Acts Required a Lot of Effort. All of Them Were Important

Act #75: Hosted a Diaper Drive for The Red Wagon Ministry

Date: Thursday, July 28th, 2022
Location: Tri-State Nissan
Employees Pictured:  Angel Payne

Act#75 – Tri-State Nissan became an official drop-off location for The Red Wagon Ministry (TRWM). We collected disposable baby diapers (and wipes), and adult hygiene products (disposable underwear, briefs, and incontinence pads) in our showroom and placed them in the Radio Flyer red wagon. TRWM will distribute them at no cost to Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke County low-income families most in need. Since Jody (pictured second from left) founded TRWM in 2008, it has “diapered the need” by collecting and distributing one million-plus diapers throughout our immediate region. TRWM facilitates “diaper drives” conducted by area churches, organizations, and individuals, and then donated diapers are often distributed through TRWM’s partners, which include CCAP of Winchester, the Highland Food Pantry, FISH of Clarke County, and the Seniors First, the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging. Neither WIC nor SNAP cover diapers, which approximate $50-$75 monthly per child. With your generation’s donations, TRWM’s hope is to lessen the chance a child will remain in a soiled or reused diaper, help our neighboring families thrive, and bring peace of mind by fulfilling a basic need.
To learn more about TRWM (501c3 non-profit), hold a “diaper drive,” and/or contribute financially, contact Jody at https://theredwagonministry.org/
