Day of Caring 2026: From Donations to Delivery
September 18th, 2026 | Winchester, Virginia: A community donation can make a real difference when people work together. Marlow Auto Group saw that firsthand during the United Way Day of Caring 2026. The annual event brought together more than 900 volunteers across the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Teams spent the day completing hands-on projects for local nonprofits and community organizations.
For Marlow Auto Group, however, the work started before the Day of Caring arrived. Marlow Motor Company and Tri-State Nissan hosted a Community Baby Shower Drive leading up to the event. Employees, customers, and community members donated baby supplies at both dealerships. The collection included diapers, wipes, blankets, bottles, bibs, books, baby lotion, baby wash, creams, towels, and other essentials. Those donations were about to become something even more meaningful.
Turning Donations Into Baby-Care Packages
On September 18, Emily Marlow Beck, Brian Nieves, Deidre Williams, and Bob Pressler represented Marlow Auto Group during the United Way Day of Caring 2026. The team volunteered with Healthy Families Northern Shenandoah Valley. Together, they used the donated supplies to assemble more than 35 baby-care packages for local parents and families. Additional supplies were also delivered to Healthy Families’ Woodstock location. Seeing the donations go from dealership collection points to completed care packages brought the entire project together.
“Seeing everything our employees, customers, and community members donated come together was really special. Every package represented people in our community helping another local family. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make this possible.” — Emily Marlow Beck, Marlow Auto Group
Supporting Local Families Through United Way Day of Caring 2026
Healthy Families Northern Shenandoah Valley works with parents and young children throughout our region. The organization provides family support, home visits, parenting education, and resources that encourage healthy childhood development. That work made the Community Baby Shower a natural fit for Marlow Auto Group’s Day of Caring project. What began with donation boxes at two dealerships ended with more than 35 completed packages and additional supplies ready for local families. It also showed what can happen when businesses, employees, customers, nonprofits, and volunteers work toward the same goal.
Marlow Auto Group is grateful to everyone who contributed to the Community Baby Shower. We also thank Healthy Families for allowing our team to be part of its work. Most of all, we appreciate the United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley for bringing hundreds of volunteers together for another Day of Caring. For one day, people throughout the Valley stepped away from their normal routines and went to work for their neighbors. The families receiving these supplies can feel the impact long after the Day of Caring ends.
