Winchester, Virginia: Tri-State Nissan is honored to have hosted around 20 high school students in the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s (TVRC’s) Arising Leadership Program on Tuesday, June 11. The group comprised students from several schools and three TVRC staff members. They arrived at 9:30 a.m., filled with energy, questions, and smiles! Marketing Director Brian Nieves welcomed the students inside the showroom and introduced them to Tri-State Nissan and Marlow Motor’s founding. Then, the students broke up into two groups, one visiting sales and the other visiting service.
Sales Department Tour
In sales, our Salesman and Electric Vehicle (EV) Ambassador Jason gave an EV walk-around, listing its facts and benefits. Next, our saleswoman Angel and Sales Manager Brian talked to the students about the sales process from customer inquiry to closing the deal. Then, our used car manager, Greg, explained the trade-in process, appraising vehicles, and gave tips on maintaining a car to get the best trade-in value.
Service Department Tour
In service, our Service Advisor Manager, Ed Sullivan, toured the students through the service bay, diagnostic area, and customer waiting area. He explained how to schedule appointments, prepare repair orders, and the importance of customer service skills and communication. Next, he reviewed the daily tasks of mechanics and technicians and demonstrated common tools and equipment, like diagnostic scanners, lifts, and specialized repair tools. Then, students visited the parts department to understand its role in maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies and how parts are ordered, stocked, and managed.
Marketing Presentation
Finally, students sat in the conference room and listened to the Marketing and Communications Intern, Andrew, explain marketing strategies used to attract customers. He also described his roles and tasks at Tri-State Nissan and advised the students about job-searching and thriving in their workplace. Afterward, the teachers and students gave a round of applause to the Tri-State Nissan team. Next, they grabbed their Marlow Motor goodie bags filled with pens, a tire pressure stick, a bottle opener, and more. The TVRC staff and students left just before noon, concluding the dealership tour.
Overall, June 11 was a fantastic day at Tri-State Nissan. We are so excited and grateful to team with TVRC, welcome students into our dealership, and teach them about the auto industry. We wish the students the best, and we trust they will use their talents, education, and integrity to better their community.
