September 2018 | Winchester, Virginia:
Each year, Worlds of Work 2018 brings together students, educators, and businesses from across the Northern Shenandoah Valley to help the next generation explore real-world career paths. Held at the Sportsplex in Winchester, the two-day event gave thousands of seventh-grade students the chance to connect classroom learning with hands-on experiences. Marlow Auto Group was proud to participate as an exhibitor in the Automotive world, joining sixty local businesses that came together to share their expertise and inspire curiosity among students from seven surrounding school divisions.

Connecting Students to Automotive Careers

During Worlds of Work 2018, students rotated through ten industry “worlds,” including agriculture, communications, healthcare, public service, construction, and transportation. In the Automotive section, Marlow Auto Group’s team showcased what it’s like to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven industry.

Students were able to explore what happens behind the scenes in modern dealerships and service departments. Many were surprised to learn that the automotive industry offers far more than technician roles—it includes opportunities in marketing, customer service, parts management, and digital innovation.

As students looked under the hood, asked questions, and shared stories about working on cars with family members, it was clear that curiosity and excitement filled the air. These small, engaging moments are what Worlds of Work 2018 is all about—helping students see how their passions can become future careers.

Building Relationships Through Education

For Marlow Auto Group, Worlds of Work 2018 was more than just an event—it was an opportunity to strengthen the company’s deep-rooted commitment to Community and Relationships. By spending time with students, the team helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, showing that meaningful careers can start right here in the Shenandoah Valley.

Representatives from Marlow enjoyed answering questions, discussing training opportunities, and sharing how the automotive industry continues to evolve with new technologies and sustainability initiatives. These conversations reflected Marlow’s long-standing belief that relationships—whether with customers, employees, or students—are at the heart of every success story.

“Events like this give students a chance to dream big and explore what’s possible,” said a Marlow Auto Group representative. “If we can inspire even one student to pursue a career they love, it’s time well spent.”

A Strong Community Partnership

Worlds of Work 2018 succeeded because of collaboration. The event brought together educators, volunteers, and local businesses who understand the importance of helping students plan for their futures. From agriculture to technology, every booth offered something valuable: inspiration. Marlow Auto Group was honored to stand among regional partners who share a commitment to workforce development and hands-on education. These partnerships help build a stronger, more connected community—one where students can see a future filled with opportunity right in their own backyard.

About The Marlow Auto Group

Marlow Auto Group team demonstrating automotive technology during Worlds of Work 2025 at Shenandoah UniversityMarlow Auto Group has proudly served the Northern Shenandoah Valley for over 75 years—but our story begins in 1947 with a decision that set us apart from the start. In the post-World War II era, when cars were scarce and buyers waited months for delivery, our founder, Guy Marlow, chose a different path. Rather than wait in line, he opened a dealership—not just to secure a car for his family, but to help others in the community do the same. That bold, people-first mindset remains at the heart of everything we do.

Over the decades, that one decision grew into a regional family of dealerships: Marlow Motor Company in Front Royal, Tri-State Nissan in Winchester, and Marlow Ford in Luray. As a locally owned and woman-operated business, we continue to grow by staying true to our five core values: Innovation, Integrity, Community, Relationships, and Exceeding Expectations. You’ll find those values in everything we do—from extended service hours that reduce downtime for local businesses to long-standing partnerships with local schools and nonprofits. Marlow Auto Group believes dealerships should do more than sell and service vehicles. They should solve problems, support their communities, and build trust that lasts. Because at Marlow, doing things differently isn’t just how we started. It’s how we lead.
