Filling the Truck, Fueling Hope:
Recap of Tri-State Nissan’s Evans Home Donation Drive
June 2025 | Winchester, Virginia: At Tri-State Nissan, we believe that small acts of kindness add up to something powerful. That’s why, during June, we launched a mission to make a difference—one donation at a time. In partnership with the Henry & William Evans Home for Children, we hosted a month-long Evans Home Donation Drive in Winchester, turning our showroom truck into a symbol of community support and generosity. We’re proud to report: the truck was filled—and so were our hearts
About the Evans Home for Children
For those unfamiliar, the Henry & William Evans Home for Children has been a cornerstone of care in Winchester since 1949. This nonprofit offers a loving, stable home for children facing homelessness or family crises. More than 500 children have grown up under their roof, attending local schools, participating in sports, and becoming part of our community.
Thanks to ongoing community support, children at the Evans Home enjoy opportunities like summer camp, orthodontic care, and simple joys like movie nights and ball games. Learn more about their mission at EvansHome.org.
What We Collected
Throughout June, our goal was to fill a full-size truck in our showroom with essential items. Thanks to customers, team members, and generous local residents, we collected:
-
Hundreds of hygiene items like shampoo, toothpaste, and soap
-
Boxes of non-perishable snacks—healthy treats perfect for growing kids
-
Dozens of packs of batteries, in every size imaginable
-
A variety of LED light bulbs to help brighten every room
Every single donation helped ensure the Evans Home Donation Drive in Winchester felt seen, valued, and supported.
Why This Drive Was Personal
This effort wasn’t just about dropping off supplies—it reflected Tri-State Nissan’s deep commitment to our core values: community, integrity, and relationships. When we say we’re invested in the future, we mean it. Events like this are how we live out that mission.
As a proud part of Marlow Auto Group, we understand that dealerships are more than buildings and cars. We’re a part of the neighborhoods we serve. Supporting the Evans Home aligned naturally with our values—and gave our team a real sense of purpose.
Impact You Could See
By the time June came to a close, the truck bed was overflowing. Families came by just to drop off goods. Some brought entire bags of supplies; others added single, heartfelt items. Each one contributed to something bigger.
On June 30th, we made our final delivery to the Evans Home. Staff members expressed their gratitude—and the kids lit up when they saw what the community had done for them. It was a reminder that even everyday items can spark extraordinary feelings of hope and belonging.
Reflecting on the Results
This drive was a win—for the Evans Home, for Tri-State Nissan, and for the Winchester community. More importantly, it was a reminder that positive change doesn’t require a grand gesture. Just a willingness to care.
We heard from parents, teachers, and local supporters who wanted to know how they could do more. That kind of ripple effect is exactly why community initiatives matter. They don’t just help in the moment—they inspire future acts of generosity.
To every person who donated—even just a toothbrush—thank you. You made this month unforgettable for children who deserve to feel seen, supported, and loved. We’re grateful to the team at Evans Home for Children for the work they do every day, and we’re honored to stand beside them.
Let’s carry this spirit into everything we do—on the road and in our communities.
